Luxury Leather Seating · Italian Craftsmanship · Contract & Residential
Poltrona Frau is an Italian furniture house founded in 1912 by Sardinian-born craftsman Renzo Frau in Turin, specialising in leather seating of extraordinary quality. From the outset the company set itself apart through its mastery of Pelle Frau® — a proprietary leather selection and tanning process that remains the foundation of every piece produced in its Tolentino workshops in the Marche region.
By the 1920s, Poltrona Frau had earned the title of official supplier to the Italian Royal Household, a recognition of the firm's uncompromising standards. Over the following century, the house expanded from its signature armchairs and sofas into comprehensive residential, office and contract collections, while also becoming a leading supplier of leather interiors for the automotive, aviation and marine industries.
Today Poltrona Frau is part of the Haworth Group and operates flagship stores in more than a dozen of the world's most important cities, with a network of over 450 points of sale globally. The company continues to collaborate with internationally acclaimed architects and designers — from Gianfranco Frattini and Pierluigi Cerri to Jean-Marie Massaud and Roberto Lazzeroni — producing pieces that embody what the house calls 'the intelligence of creative hands.'
