About
Pierre Bonnefille is a French artist, painter, designer and 'Maître d'Art' — a title awarded by the French Ministry of Culture to masters of exceptional craft. Born in 1958 in Saint-Quentin and raised partly in the Auvergne region of central France, he developed an early love of nature watching his great-aunt, an archaeologist and painter, at work. A graduate of both the École Boulle and the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, he has spent more than three decades creating his own materials from mineral powder, limestone, lava, marble, earth, natural pigments and metallic powders.
