Architecture & Interior Design
Michel Boyer was born in a period of craftsmen and architects. He first enrolled at the school of Beaux-Arts in Paris, and then in 1957, at l'École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, where he studied in the Studio of the famous decorator André Arbus. In 1960, Boyer joined the team of architect Pierre Dufau, who specialised in office buildings.
Beyond Shelter describes Boyer as having 'established a certain standard of 1970s style.' He is known for 'clean sleek shapes and monoblock designs with a luxurious undertone' — playing with solids and voids in familiar geometric forms. His work is held in significant collections and represented by Demisch Danant.
